Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I hated those forms. Never enough boxes.

And while we're at it, bloody annoying websites that won't let me put my name in correctly. Yes it's complicated, but there are those of us who have a full stop in our name. Sort your coding out.

People who pronounce kilometer as ‘kilom-ether’ , it’s ‘kilo-meter’ just like kilogram etc

Sigh
The mixed fonts being used on some pages now on BBC News; the heading being in a different typeface to the body of the story.

Same here - I've also always spelt it kilometre (kilometer is the American English spelling?)

Dealing with TalkTalk ... (after 26 days of MiL's internet being down and deciding to switch to BT). yesterday was the switch day an MiL was worried about TalkTalk taking any more money.
A summary of a much longer call with TT accounts support ...
Me: We've switched from TalkTalk to BT today, and I want to check when we'll get a final bill or credit from TalkTalk.
TT : Yes, I see you've terminated today. You'll get a final bill within 10 days.
Me : Will that be a credit, not a bill, for the full month advance payment you took 2 days ago?
TT : Yes, a credit within 10 days, or by 4th Oct
Me : Will it also include a credit for the 26 days for no service from 10-Aug to 4th Sept ?
TT : (few checks) I see the fault, so that will come through within 30 days.
Me : Can you check it really is in progress, or do I have to wait 30 days then call and complain?
TT : No, that has to come from the support team. But - you'll get the final billing or credit within 10 days, or by 4th Oct.
Me : Will that final bill include the credit for the downtime?
TT : No, that will come later, within 30 days.

Not sure TalkTalk operate to the same calendar as me.

I chose not to engage and drill down on the date options and limits .. so maybe this should really be on the 'Things you want to say' thread.
