Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch
or for an ad-free Fetcheveryone experience!

That’s what happens when you are insufficiently caffeinated :)
But since I’m here: the twat who moved into our street recently who can’t park for toffee

[LazyDaisy: the sharper focus on feminist issues and the position of women in 2020 gives plenty of scope for coverage of current concerns - and that does interest me.]

[I'm absolutely not WH's target demographic but since I absolutely refuse to listen to pop radio whether it's R1, R2 (even Ken Bruce) or any of the even worse commercial stations; R4 it is so I often listen to WH by default. It's usually pretty decent, interesting range of topics, professional presenters, good interviews ... yeah, no problem with it at all.]

Learners on DuoLingo who haven't grasped halfway through the course that you cannot translate one language into another in a word-for-word manner, and complain about it, demanding that it should be so.

Sigh
10 miles into my virtual HM race, the motorist who reversed off his drive to block the pavement, then stopped to wave and smile at me, indicating that as far as he was concerned it was perfectly safe for me to run in the road behind him, and I had his reassurance that he wasn't about to kill me. How bloody gracious.

Bloody London property prices. How can a rundown shoebox with crappy furniture be worth £1500 a MONTH
