Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch
or for an ad-free Fetcheveryone experience!

[Saying, "No, we're not having a staycation, we're going to Yorkshire," made about as much sense to people as when I said, "No, we're not engaged, we're going to get married."]

We’re having a staycation in Yorkshire. I’ve not left the county for months

Subtitles on TV when someone is speaking English in a foreign language, or broad regional accent.

[I used the word staycation yesterday when commenting on a friend's fb post. She should be in Italy. Instead she is at home digging the garden and posted a pic of herself covered in mud. We are going on holiday in the UK. That's a holiday, as we are not staying at home]

I’ve just taken a trip into the dark side of local Facebook groups. There are some odd people out there. If I didn’t know better, I’d assume they were trolls.

[As a retired person, I listen regularly to 'Woman's Hour'. [I'm too decrepit even for Radio 2 to hit the spot ;) ] I find it one of the most incisive and uncompromising programmes on BBC radio. Not 'agreeing' with every opinion, view or research piece is surely an indicator the the current format is successful.]

[Woman's Hour must have improved a lot then Swittle. I gave up on it a few years back because I found it smug and patronising. I might give it another try but frankly I'm loath to forego Popmaster on R2 for it ;-) ]

Ken is by far the least worst DJ on the R2 daytime schedule
