[M_N, that bugs me too. I get people spelling my name wrong in emails all the time, people addressing me by by surname in emails all the time - has one last week addressed “Dear Jenny/surname”, as if either I was two people or he was unsure which was my first name...and annoyingly one colleague who’s new to the team seems to address some emails as Jenny and some as Jennie...FFS, you don’t have to guess, it’s in my email address and my email signature]

Sorry GordonG, Notification didn't work. Back to the 17th June, it was the misrepresentation of the efficacy of taking Dexamethisone. The reporter went on about a 25% increase in survial rate for people who took the drug who were on a respirator. The headline should have been only 75% die if taking Dexamethisone rather than 80% if you didn't. Or Dexamethisone saves 1 in 20 from death and the response is meh, not quite the breakthrough 25% improvement sounds like. I hate it when correspondents use percentages without telling you the baseline. I knew the baseline from reading the report earlier on in the day.
If it had been 99% death to 98% death, double your chance of survival by doing this. It's right but frankly the underlying message is missed. Most of you will still die. Not the cheeriest of posts.
Have fun stay safe

I write my name in e-mails, Christmas cards, etc. and it really annoys me the number of times people still spell my name with two L's. My wife has less letters in her first name than me and people misspell hers too - somehow!

I both type and write my name as Chirs and that annoys me no end.

I have been through phases of spelling the short version of my name with either an S or Z (to avoid confusion with others) - I get called both on Facebook - depending on where they know me from

[That made me laugh Chris]
People adding a random H to the beginning on my name when there's clearly no H there

[I’m glad the supermarkets I use don’t have a one way system, it would annoy the hell out of me having to go along the aisles I don’t need anything from. And I nearly always forget something I’ve already walked past, so I would have go around again]

[I'm quite happy to follow a one way system round the supermarket, though it wouldn't be my preference. But if I can't adapt to it straight away there are going to be plenty of other people who, through no fault of their own and with no intention to be disruptive, also can't adapt to it straight away, and slagging them - us! - off for it is a bit like slagging off slow runners for not being faster, or people with dyscalculia for not being able to add up numbers in their head.]
