“Aye, and it won’t be me” is what I usually think. [about 10 days sans FB. Haven’t missed it]

M_N I once went to a Gary Barlow concert ( don't judge me ) and the woman in front was doing that but I must admit her camera was amazing and I got such a better view

People's inability to answer the question that is asked of them, in a variety of different ways.
1) Don't answer the question at all 2) Answer the question ambiguously, or non-specifically 3) Answer a different question 4) Ask you the same question back in return 5) Answer just 1 of 2 or more questions, usually the least important 6) Give an invalid response 7) Start a discussion on a different matter

Barclaycard. Not for the first time, my card has been blocked whilst abroad. This time, however, they’ve already issued a replacement without telling me and sent it to my UK address so can’t unblock the original that I have with me. This will make booking hotels for our return drive home, and paying motorway tolls, complicated to say the least. They’ve just lost a customer.

um
[Give them the problem AtC. Ask where you can pick up a replacement card that fits your (pre-determined and fixed) schedule. I've found BC (and Amex) very good when you give the problem to them to fix. aka 'force them' to fix it rather than you suffer.]

Already asked, um, and was told categorically that it was impossible. She offered to send cash but didn’t seem to appreciate the problem of trying to book hotels online without a card.

I loaned a pen to a colleague, and the first thing he did was to put it in his mouth while he fiddled with some papers!
