You introduce yourself by name and they ask "is that is ___?" Another person entirely. The three-way conversation is also a pain. Whether it's someone on the other end clearly not listening to you because there is someone else talking to them, or even at my end - usually my wife.

(I'm sure the Germans don't put a stick on the steering column for this purpose, unlike most other manufacturers.) When he could see that I may have been cursing him he wound down the window and gave me the finger, then he made another rude gesture. If he'd indicated and gave a friendly thank-you wave, it would be so much nicer to drive around town.

Apart from the well documented dangerous effects of these lanterns on wildlife and livestock, they think that sending hundreds of open flames across the Peak District is quite safe because the lanterns are "biodegradable and have a limited burn time". Never mind the fact that the local MP, residents, landowners and the fire brigade are telling them not to. I wish I could be unsurprised that it's a US company, but I'm not.
