Phone you son's form tutor for 40 minutes to talk about matters of concern.

Good idea Chris.
A clue in a crossword "Smaller bone of the lower leg, not the femur". What bloody anatomy book are they reading?

Just found out that they hadn't even taken the register and were just asked to sit down when he arrived. Really petty and a classic example of a domineering teacher who likes to exert their authority over children.

I feel your pain Surrey Phil Marigold got a late mark because she wasn't in class when the teacher arrived even tho she got there before the register was taken. Not the same as a detention, but the school counts late marks against positive behaviour when deciding which kids get to go on trips etc

Had the school informed children that there would be roadworks ? I think any office with as many employees as a school has children would warn about travel difficulties.

No, we received no notifications and I believe quite a few children were affected. Needless to say, an e-mail to the form tutor, head of year and others was sent this morning. It's just frustrating that she did not use any common sense in the matter.
My son said that the teacher in question has rushed in at the last minute on occasions and said that she needed a coffee otherwise she gets angry. She must have had a caffeine-free morning yesterday.
In adult working environments, if we are affected by traffic, public transport, RTA, weather, etc., our bosses are lenient enough to accept the apology. I know some children have a CBA attitude to lateness but when someone is genuinely worried about it and makes every effort to be at school on time, yesterday's teacher really got to me.

People complaining about mandatory kit lists. Don’t do the race if you don’t want to carry it. It’s the RD’s call

email spam. Just got a VERY convincing one with my full name, street and postcode (sans door number), also full of DPD logos and "download the app." It's only because I KNOW I'm not expecting any deliveries and I don't recognise the address from which the email was sent that I stopped myself from clicking something nasty.
Conversely, I'm LOVING all the companies emailing me to say they'll stop emailing me after GDPR kicks in, should tidy up my inbox a treat!
