Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Interesting, I’m awaiting something from Amazon dispatched on Wednesday, they said it was sent Royal Mail but no tracking and no info. I just won’t bother in future.

All Amazon parcels sent through us are traceable now. Probably means your item hasn't even been packed or dispatched. Hope that helps.

+1 to that Metronome. Yesterday there was a runner who ought to have known better telling us our parkrun was short.

Well, fuck off, Garmin nazi, we've been round it six times with a wheel and you go under a lot of trees as well as through a tunnel, plus it was raining.

Anyone who thinks GPSs are that accurate should try geocaching.

Hm, yes, it annoys me that my GPS doesn't handle Milton parkrun better than it does, but it's all down to a windy route full of short switchbacks with tree cover almost every metre of the way; I know Lyra and BlueWombat of this parish measured it right in the first place.

GPS not being 100% accurate, meaning that in the last month I've (a) run a parkrun thinking a course PB was in the bag on the grounds that my average pace never once went above my target, yet missing out by about 20 seconds, and (b) run another thinking I was merely on for a decent time, but ending up with my best result for three years.

I did that at Kent Roadrunner one year, thinking I was on for my best time ever. Learned the hard way that GPS pace is a guide.

Directors/senior managers tampering with a perfectly good system or working practice just to be seen as imposing themselves or actually doing any work.

I'm on a roll now!

Son's obnoxious form tutor gave him a 40 minute detention today for being 30 seconds late despite there being an obvious half-mile tailback due to roadworks not far from the school. Now I'm really annoyed!
