" before contradicting someone or saying something they know isn't going to go down well with their audience, and then getting upset when they're challenged. Because starting off with "sorry" gives you carte blanche to say what you like, doesn't it? (I have one of these in my workplace. They think everyone is out to get them for some reason I can't quite fathom.)
