Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Fragile Do Not Bend
Those child-proof bottle tops that really should be called everyone-proof. I don't have children, can I have the option of buying a bottle with a normal top?

No, just someone who values their privacy and resents having someone digging around, presumably one-handed, for my personal information. I am not "a fake", I am a real human being, and I get hurt and upset. I have been enjoying a particularly nasty panic reaction since yesterday and have considered hurting myself. I am frightened that this person, or others like him, is seeking further personal information and that I may suffer some abuse.

Rather than mock me, you might want to think about being critical of this lowlife. It's not an in-joke for your clique - it's bullying. Anonymity is no excuse for behaving poorly.

I will be deleting this account now too - try not to be too astonished or wierded out if clicking on my name leads to the message "user does not exist". That's just an error message. Nothing more.

We know what "user does not exist" means; people leave now and again.

I *think* I was gently critical of Zorba, and tried to reassure you. You said thanks. Obviously we should have been much less gentle in your eyes?
When I said your profile didn't give much away - you didn't have any training or race results there, which most of us do. Try clicking on any users avatar, if you aren't familiar with that - you'll see what I mean.

"Presumably one-handed"? What? I can only think of one way to interpret that, and I have no idea what any of us did to deserve being called wankers.

"Clique". Really? That's a word that has a bit of history on Fetch. Probably just a coincidence you chose it though.

"Anonymity is no excuse for behaving poorly". You can't have it both ways - you're the only one here who is anonymous right now. As you (correctly) pointed out, we all have varying degrees of personal information here on our profiles (by choice). It'll take you less than a minute to find out my real-life name via some race results, if you really wanted to.

Clearly I need to hold back on the account deletions, but I hope this is the last thing I'll have to say as I was quite taken aback by that.

One semi-gratuitous insult from me in there - I can assure you I meant it only at the person who was digging for ammo against me, and I stand by it. He's clearly a nasty piece of work. I apologise sincerely for any offence caused to you and anyone else who may have taken it upon themselves. I noted your mild rebuke, and my thanks were genuine.

However, "Wow, that was weird. Zorba's ex?" is a pretty poor thing to say - I hope you will see why I think so. My reaction was not weird, it was a human reaction from someone who has been thrown into a crisis by a 100% unprovoked attack (why? I genuinely don't understand!) and has genuine fears about it. None of us is perfect, and I'm happy to let it go amicably, but please realise first that these things have a real effect on real lives.

I am allowed not to put my training, races etc on the site. It's a matter of personal choice. No-one should have a problem with that. I had my real name and real club up! For all I know a terrible mistake.

Clique was used as a word to describe those who chose to have a pop (mild, perhaps) at the outsider when the insider is wrong. I chose it advisedly and I stand by it. I think it's accurate - is there a better example? If it's a charged word around here, it ought to be.

If you could be so good, I'd quite like to be left alone now please - please!, and if someone could crop the end off this thread it would be merciful.
