Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Too many to enumerate, Chris. The stuff about addictiveness and about the metabolism of fructose, if you want something to be going on with for now. He's a cynical charlatan making a bob or two out of a stupid public.

Could you expand on the fructose thing, V'rap? Very briefly?

You see articles about cars and bikes experiencing travel to work/rush hour etc.

I can't remember seeing an article about pedestrians and the issues they face trying to get to work inc kids walking to school. We're born with legs and not wheels, so why isn't the state of being a pedestrian looked into more?

Apparently "car sales at a record high" (today) is cause for great celebration. I haven't any idea what is good about it.

People who walk reeeeallllllllyyyyy slowly* down a narrow gangway, on the way to the canteen for example, leaving you unable to get past. And then just stop.

Yes I heard that on the news Jacdaw. Didn't make me feel happy at all. I heard plenty of reports over Christmas from friends spending ages on roads trying to get back home from visits.

Perhaps I'll write an article and see if I can get it published regarding my walk to work. It's been a record year for issues:

Slippery, squishy leaves on pavements
Frosty pavements in a hilly city
Trip hazards
Ridiculous camber
St George and Redfield having ridiculous waiting times at pedestrian crossings
Vehicles going through red lights when peds are waiting to cross
Vehicles sitting on zebra crossings
Vehicles not stopping at zebras when peds are on them
Pavements suddenly running out
Non-gritting of pavements, esp on hills (this really pisses me off)
Crazy and illogical alignment of cycle/ped lanes
Having to have a neck like an owl when crossing side roads and looking 3 ways
Lack of indication from vehicles

Fragile Do Not Bend
Text from my mobile company saying they will be calling me soon about upgrading, no obvious way to tell them to sod off. At least they told me what number they will call from so I know which calls to ignore.

[Nope, jacdaw. I could expand at length, but I reserve the right to do no more than declare my gears ground.]
