Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Bizarre in so many ways.

Those who eat healthily and exercise are caught in the same NHS/Education Authority net as those who live on Pink'n'whites and Heavy-duty cola!

No sense.

I think it's done at school by NHS nurses. I doubt there's the tiniest bit of evidence that it changes behaviour, especially as the fat kids aren't offered free after school sports or the schools are any fucking use in helping kids be more active at lunch time, and in the case of the junior school my kids went to, seemed to wash their hands of any ideas about helping kids get to school using active travel. They tried to impose a helmet rule for kids on scooters, sent emails all the time about stranger danger, didn't give a shit about parents parking on the footpath outside school, etc. They did go through kids' lunch boxes though...

Raptors Claws are coming to town
Children who fall outwith a defined range of acceptable body sizes are caught in a net irrespective of what they actually eat and drink, how much exercise they do, and other factors that might affect their health.

I thought it was national stand in the way week, with the focus on street corners, underground escalators and train doors.

Don't forget shoving people into shop fronts because they have the cheek to want to go the other way when YOU AND YOUR REALLY IMPORTANT FRIENDS/FAMILY/CLONES WANT TO WALK 5 ABREAST.

I should move somewhere else, really. Cambridge is exceptionally bad for that sort of behaviour.

It's National 'Stressed parent' day if the retail park is anything to go by. I admire the optimism of the woman walking into ToysRUs saying to three primary school children, "Five minutes only".
