Good news for you Jock. Well guys been away a while trying to get this ITB syndrome sorted for the last 4 weeks. Been biking a quite a bit and managed a 5 mile run yesterday and 6 miles today (tightly strapped!) with no ill effects. Just need to get a few more runs in before the day to boost my confidence which is flagging at the moment. ![]() |

Do you have a foam roller? Also there are some very good stretches for the IT band...I'll see if I can find them.

thanks all. Clarkey - time really to rest now really. Hope the leg holds up for you. Gentle streching all the way. |

Wot he said ^ - just rest and trust the training, don't risk aggravating the ITB band now with long/hard runs. Gentle stretching and rollering and keep things ticking over. You'll have a whole Fetchpoint team with their fingers and toes crossed for you all day if that helps?

For some stretches, that is. There's another one but it's more easily demonstrated than described that gives even more relief. I need to find it online.

Hope the ITB getting better Clarkey. Strange now not doing so many miles. So stressed with changes at work that I hope this doesn't affect my marathon performance, not getting a lot of sleep.

Well guys had my first leg massage last night and was told my IT band was very supple and only had a couple of knots in my quads so all the stretching and rollering has really paid off and the extra long taper of course! ![]() Thanks ALL for the comments and the links (Garfiled) I'm feeling much more confident and capable now. Plus a new knee support (which has been tested on a couple of runs) feels good and has given me a psychological boost. Woo Hoo bring it on I'm ready!!! ![]() |
