So disappointed - tried for about six years to get in and this happens! I will defer - but am confused; it appears I will have to pay again for next year which seems a bit unfair - unless I am missing something.

Tony - you've always had to pay for deferrals I'm afraid. I think you can kind of make sense of it if you think you're displacing someone else who would pay to enter next year's event from the ballot, GFA, etc....

Reading the info I have seen, that's what I thought it meant but thought it seemed a bit unfair considering other events such as festivals etc. held over payments for events affected by Covid 19 - but I suppose as it was my decision (albeit forced to drop out by injury) I can see the other side of the argument. The most annoying thing is that I had done all the hard work - done all the longest runs and was just starting to taper when this niggle decided to up its game and stop me from running. I think I might do a marathon in the spring so it does not seem way ahead in the future and then just look forward to London next October.

I feel for Tony and any others who have this late call to make I am hoping I may slip through and be allowed a deferral but as I was gfa and my qualifier is now out of date I think that’s me out for good.
