Yeah, not disagreeing with you. Far more important things than ad campaigns required.
I can't believe that Rees Mogg has greenlit Oil and Gas exploration / exploitation licenses for North Sea. That should be illegal, not just against the UN climate guidance. Grrr.

Here's a thought. Several in fact. In times of national trial, public information can be more important and have more utility.
Simple illustration: Ever got in a bath which was too hot and you had to run some cold into it?
Ever switch your sink mixer tap from hot towards cold?
Or had to adjust your shower mixer?
Ever thought heating water up only to then cool it seems like a textbook definition of wasting energy and money?

Also: who the heck knows what the settings on the boiler or the radiator thermostats mean and how long is it since you looked at them? £15m is a drop in the bucket.

Oh talking on Anti Growth Coalition (now AGC), apparently Mark Drakeford has been accused of being a primary member of the AGC in one paper (don't know which one as John Harris of the Guardian who tweeted it didn't credit the paper) - because Drakeford has "flirted with":
"universal basic income, 4 day week and 20mph speed limits"
So everything we are pretty much for on this forum (with one or two exceptions). So welcome to the AGC comrades....

I think leaguefreak’s argument is wrong, the true reason is a purely ideological belief that the government should not govern. What we are currently suffering under is the puerile libertarian fantasy that if only the government stops trying to improve the lives of its citizens, their lives will improve by the miracle of the unregulated free market alone.
In support of my view: it’s what the government has actually said (it’s not their business telling us what to do). It’s also consistent with their stated beliefs and other actions.

Of course the Overton window has moved to the right over the years, there's no denying it. A centre position in this country would be regarded as well right of centre in most other European countries. But you're not going to shift it back in the other direction by railing away in purist opposition. The only way for it to change will be to get into power by appearing reasonable to enough voters, then slowly make the case for more left-of-centre positions. It takes time.
I'm not sure I necessarily agree that the UK (or more accurately England) is a naturally right-of-centre place. What we do have, I think uniquely, though, is an overwhelming right-wing press under non-dom ownership which completely poisons the debate. I would absolutely LOVE to see the Daily Mail forced out of business as a result of the actions being taken against it, although I can't see it happening, alas. And Dacre looks to have already grabbed his coveted peerage.

The funny thing is, if the govt were to advertise to tell us all to turn down our boilers by 1 degree or something similar, most would probably ignore. If David Attenborough (or maybe the rw press) did it, most would follow the advice.
There is a core of the population who have a built in negativity to govt-led instruction, but who will follow like sheep their chosen celebrity deity or news source.
