Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch
or for an ad-free Fetcheveryone experience!

My thought was plant them in the ground straight away.

Oh no, just come across 5 or 6 fallow (I think) deer wandering down our lane. I’m never seen any deer anowhere near here before. I hope they stay out of my garden. 🙁

I've had trouble with muntjac coming into the garden for the last couple of years - they seem to have an unerring eye for what is a weed and what is not. Weeds clearly don't taste as nice.

My friend has moved to the edge of the New Forest and is trying to make a town garden. She has tried to deerproof it and moans like mad when they get in. I told her not to be such a snob, if you move into the Forest, what do you expect? :) She also moans about the rabbits, but they're impossible to keep out.

Ooh, fancy. Slugs are more of a problem than deer around here...

Yes, if slugs ate weeds gardening would be easy :)
