No idea Linds, it's the same here. We had a new record of 365 in the New Year, then it went back to normal levels around 300ish - and then in the last month we've had two weeks into the 400's!

Well below average rainfall for several months; more fun - and cheaper - than the gym.

At Conwy it is just getting more and more popular, my worry being at some point the council is going to take a look at the state of the river path. It may just be coincidence, but we really have some deep potholes now. Whereas a year ago our quiet weeks were around 170-180, the quiet weeks are now 270+. On the occasions we have had over 300 it has started to back up at the finish line.
The worry is we are soon entering holiday season and if last summer is anything to go by the numbers will explode again. Makes volunteering around the funnel a fun packed day anyway :D

It's weird. I'm sure the weather must have something to do with it.

Roslistion was nice for my tourist visit yesterday (family weekend away nearby). Slight drizzle to start but a good location and the usual friendly volunteers and organisers. Slowly increasing my pace and it seems okay. Might be hovering around 30 in a week or so.

We have had to make our finishing funnel longer and longer because otherwise around the 27-29 minute mark we end up with people queueing across the finish line - the poor token giver is going as fast as they can but it's sometimes not fast enough!

At York, the first part of the finishing funnel is divided in to two with little cones after the last runner has completed the first lap (course is about one and two-thirds laps). The first finishers queue as normal, but when it starts to get busy runners are directed into first one side, then the other side of the funnel. The first in each queue is given a laminated letter card (A, B, C etc) so the funnel manager at the top knows which order they should go down the rest of the funnel in - the whole funnel is shaped like a flattened S, with the cards handed out at the bottom left of the letter, the tokens handed out at the top of the letter, and the scanners waiting at the top right. Needs around four funnel managers, although some of those are often fast finishers who join in after their run. Does this make sense? Works pretty well! We had some problems with runners backing up over the line before the funnel boss came up with this solution.

Bushy does similar with the divided funnel and letters. We may have to resort to something similar if numbers keep growing.
