Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch
or for an ad-free Fetcheveryone experience!

A half-way house for those of us who like the idea of fitting three sports in one costume, but who don't necessarily want to be too dedicated. Discuss.

I thought we were going to hear all your pearls of wisdom as a a seasoned Sprint Triathlete in here :P I think it (a triathlon) is something that should be done once is a lifetime and so if time only allows for a sprint one then all well and good :-)

I fear this is the easy way to the dark side. It starts with a 'little taster', and the next thing you know you have remortgaged the cat for a pair of aero bars.

I've spat them all out already. But we're doing it again in October, so I thought it'd be nice to have a newbie place for our wittering.

It's an insiduous, invasive and progressive condition is triathlon. Complete abstinence is the only defence.

The only remaining debate, once Fetch crosses the line in the sprint, is whether his first Ironman will be one of the European races, or a UK one.

My timeline from first sprint completed, to handing over 450 Euros for that starting slot was a mere 3 and bit months.
