£1 was for a class cocktail e.g. a Purple Nastie - half lager, half cider (i.e. snakebite) plus backcurrant (i.e. Snakebite + Black) plus... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... a shot of Pernod = Purple Nastie.
