Thanks folks - my first ever laps ultra. Lap was just under 5 miles and managed 7, only full laps counted and although I still had about 40 mins after finishing lap 7 wouldn't have got another done in that time, thankfully as I was gubbed by that point !
clarevmc won the women's race ( and 3rd overall ) - doesn't look like she's used fetch since early 2017

Now that is epic
Speaking of which ...
I did pop along to Falkirk today to spectate. Despite rolling out of bed late, I still caught the race start ... as it was 37 minutes late. Luckily, a dry and not so cold day. Very busy on the run, and a tough route. Popped on to FB as I thought that there may be a few comments on the day - it seems that there were.
So many, in fact, that the organisers, Tough Runner, have deleted the event page. They stated that they wanted it make a really big impression with their first ever Scottish event - it seems that they did.

A few runners in my club did that race Dvorak and one especially complained bitterly about the delayed start.
Was it the XC national course they did?

No, it used mainly the woodland trails, right up to the back of the park, with about 2 km of tarmac. Start and finish more or less the same as parkrun. So no grass/mud, but more ascent.
On the map below, it's roughly a clockwise circuit of the park/woods, a squiggle back uphill, then the first bit in reverse.
