HS I didn't understand the 0.0 and 2.2 reference either, and must admit I'm still a bit fogged as my Garmin doesn't have this function. Are you saying the readings refer to the ratio between your aerobic and anaerobic running? lawn Well done for your 6 mile forest run on Thursday.
WtnMel Did you get your lawns cut yesterday? The weather was definitely a bit cooler. Today we've even had some rain, but at the moment it's sunny so Steve has taken advantage of that to go for a ride on his bike (still no running until he's seen the physio on Thursday).
Last night I went over to the coast for a mile race, I was very slightly faster than last time but need to do some speed work before next month's race if I want to improve. Parkrun today at Gateshead, a new one for me and rather undulating. We nearly didn't get there in time but with a fast sprint from where we'd parked the car I managed to get to the start (after asking the way) for half a minute before nine. Phew! Not sure I liked the course much as there were too many laps but I managed a 69.53% WAVA. The lady in my age category who beat me had a WAVA in the 80s!

Aquarius, no, its nothing to do with a ratio between aerobic and anaerobic readings. Each receives a rating, and I was only commenting on anaerobic readings. In simple terms, Sarah and I didn't register any benefits, hence the zeros, whereas Mike benefited ,achieving a rating of 2.2.
Thanks for your comments on Thursdays run.
Well done for yesterday's 1 mile race at the coast, which was slightly quicker than the previous one.
Very well done for this mornings parkrun at Gateshead, with a WAVA of 69.53%. The lady with an 80% + WAVA , must have been very speedy.
I had intended to do the Brockenhurst parkrun this morning, which is back in the college playing fields, as Sarah F and Mike are 'alphabeting' and were doing one in Wales to get a 'Y'. However, Sarah H and Giuliana just wanted to do a local hilly road run, so I agreed, and we ran 5.64 miles.

I ran a solo 7.3 miles in the forest this morning, with a few intervals thrown in for good measure.

HS Thanks for clarifying the anaerobic readings thing. Could the difference be because you don't all have the same Garmin model? Seems odd that Mike benefited while you and Sarah didn't.
I see you ran a hilly road run on Saturday rather than parkrun. Followed by two solid training days, I wish I had your stamina!
A 9 mile hilly run for me today (but unlike HS I won't be following it with another long run tomorrow ) with a total ascent of 251 meters. I've no doubt my legs will be complaining tomorrow.
The Pilates site I use has monthly challenges and I've just had an email to tell me I've won this month's challenge! The challenge is to complete all the sessions listed for that month, I think the prize is a couple of month's free membership. This month in addition to the usual challenge there is a new one that focuses on weights, I've had a quick look and it seems a bit daunting but will give it a go and do what I can as I think this strength work is paying off.

Aquarius, yes, we have different Garmin watches, but that shouldn't make any difference. Mike is quite a bit faster than us, so perhaps that is the reason 🤔
Well done for todays hilly 9 miles, and winning this months pilates challenge. I'm sure that your strength work is paying off.
I ran 8 miles in the forest this morning with the Monday Group.

Hillstrider - thanks for explaining those figures you quoted referred to aerobic and anaerobic levels. I see Sarah F and Mike were 'alphabeting' - have they said how they're getting on ticking off each letter? Well done re your recent 5.6, 7.3 and 8ml runs.
Aquarius - yes, as mentioned below, I did do the lawns. We're still waiting for rain (see below). Well done re your faster time for that mile race. And for managing to get to the parkrun just before the start. That's an impressive WAVA score for that other lady in your age category. And well done re your 9ml run - hope the legs don't complain too much! Oohh - good news to hear you've won a prize from that Pilates site. I've been keeping an eye on the emails from HF Holidays in case of any bargains - not so much a bargain but my interest was sparked by a 'walking and pilates' holiday in Shropshire. Not followed it up yet though!!
I did cut the lawns on Friday. I'm trying to do them every few days as it's so much easier with not being so long and I have been leaving the grass box off so there's a fine 'mulch' on the lawn that disappears by itself and I don't have to wander back and forth emptying the grass cuttings into the garden waste bin.
With no rain lately, and none forecast, I've been having to go out and water the new plants (2x grasses, shrub, lily, redcurrant). The runner beans I was growing indoors all sprouted and were starting to get a bit 'leggy'. So on Saturday, morning I planted them out beside the canes I'd already erected. So the runner beans have been added to the bi-nightly watering routine. When they've grown a bit more, the advice is to spread grass cuttings around the base to provide a mulch and conserve moisture. So I'll need to leave the grass box on the mower that time.
We were away seeing my Mum on Sunday so I did 40 lengths (0.8km) in the hotel pool. I've been out this morning and done a brisk 4ml walk. I went over on my ankle at two points in my walk (one right, one left) - both times, while watching the traffic and not where I was putting my feet - but I recovered each time and there's no ongoing pain so I think I got away with it each time. Must be my quick reactions!
I noticed that at Croome, where Margaret and I like to go, on Monday they are running a 30/60/90 min 'health walk'. I shall see if Margaret can make it as she can do the shorter walk while I do the longer one.

WtnMel, I think that Sarah has about 4 letters to get, and Mike a few more.
Well done for being so busy in the garden.
Well done for Sundays swim, and yesterday's brisk 4 miles walk. I'm glad that you had no after effects from turning both ankles.
I hope that you and Margaret do well on Mondays 30/60/90 'health walk'.
Sounds like you have been very busy 0061. Did you run in both marathons?
This morning was a hilly 4 miles on roads with Sara H and Mike, including 5 hilly circuits with 2 minutes recoveries.
I don't think that I have mentioned that I have a new Garmin, it's a Forerunner 255, which I'm still getting used to.
