Another day up a mountain to park up and await a peloton. weather was changeable but as usual once the main event was due down came the rain. Longer and possibly slightly easier climb but at about halfway through the stage it was taken at a steady tempo although the break fractured in the last 2k, of an 8k climb, into about 4 groups keeping a gap of about a minute between the first in the break and the main group containing Lizzie. She was deep in the pack on the other side of the road from me so only caught the Green Jersey fleetingly. Great riding again by all the entrants. Even the laughing group had terrific support, from probably several hundred people along the last 2k of the climb, in my view, and maybe more around the corner out of my sight |

I notice Le Tour resembles the Dauphine more than the Giro in its shorter, punchier stages too.

Thought I'd done enough with the overall 1st and 2nd places (Tejay Van Gardening Leave finally delivers!) Poses an interesting question. Is Tejay gonna be support (for Uran?) or allowed a crack in his own right?
