Another vote for those really thin, only side seamed, 'no VPL' M&S kecks. No edging on the legs helps too. Loads of sizes, cheap.

I use runderwear and although expensive have not had any chaffage and i am "a bit podgy" so it has been an issue in the past.

Slow response...I have proportionally large thighs and the runderwear fit so happy to pay (wouldn't wear them for running though)
