Si, I am taking you putting me right down the bottom of the niceness table as a compliment if that's ok with you 😂. nice turn out with the 3,000m. Obliterated nipples is never a good look @stevieg . I always thank committee types, if I notice they've done something useful. If I can get to Kona and then go and medal at the European Champs then I might look to get into coaching at the club. Give something back. They had no excuses with my club kit suggestion as the provider I offered was no minimum order and wasn't that expensive, the existing provider is still expensive and it's crap. You seem to be picking up @Sorequads after a little lull perhaps? You running clubs only need a race vest! I don't see how offering a £75 Soar vest or whatever alongside whatever you currently have is in any way elitist. |

I’m a lefty and can’t stand sackcloth style vests - I’ve remarked about this before but it deserves reiteration - club vests should have the feel of a sheer negligee. And cost a fiver. I think on the prizes thing I’m thinking bigger picture really - I’m seeing lots of decent club races are well priced and interesting but they are dwindling in attendance at a time when running is booming. The irony of your comments @LBAC Si is that in this environment you don’t have to run that fast to pick up a prize (or two!) because the competition is slighter at these races. Your average parkrun is more competitive with no prizes whatsoever ! Which reminds me (and dovetails in with discussions of niceness) at one of my recent parkrun efforts I was in between first and second lady going round a cone and the second lady at the time pushed me out of the way. I’d have ceded if asked nicely … I had no skin in the game. @TippTop That’s a real shame, I can’t imagine having to deal with the jeopardy that introduces around getting out for a run. I know someone that had a very similar diagnosis, was linked to a vagus nerve issue. He was a national level runner and stopped almost in his prime by it. @Foppotee Coaching is interesting to say the least in a club with a spread of abilities. Don’t even dare to suggest the idea of organising by pace groups, even though it’s often the most practical way of ensuring there’s always someone around to give aid. It’s viewed as divisive - and hurts feelings. Great mileage @Sorequads in the now cooler but still elevated temperatures and still with the spring for the plyo work ! |

Of all the vest comparisons, Muddy, you've gone with a ladies undergarment 👌

Who says negligée is only for women 😉 I probably sound quite nice on here, but feel amongst me people. Don’t worry, I’m far more grumpy at work. Evesham 10k @Muddyfunster. Haven’t done it before but it’s pretty convenient. Certainly doesn’t look Chichester or Bourton level fast, but having excuses up my sleeves ideal anyway! @Foppotee I agree entirely it shouldn’t be elitist. I think the argument is there would be one best for slower runners and another for those willing to fork out for something to make them (exceptionally marginally) faster. But that doesn’t make sense as people already race in many older version, even t shirts. |

Pushed you out the way Muddy? That's not on. Especially at a parkruns that's pathetic stuff. When I did my 34.30 at Eastleigh 10k yonks back I was actually in between the 2 leading women. That was a weird one! Think it finished Lead woman 3430 Me 3430 2nd woman 3432 No pushes though. |

@Sorequads with gear it also depends what sport. Racing, yeah some get dece boost out of the supershoes, not convinced my heel striking gets that but I like the feel anyway. But in tri, a big Reggie style 30k bike would absolutely blow poor Alf down the road put of dodge on his £27 penny farthing |

Off to track. Brilliant at 7pm when it's all done, but that 6pm will always feel a strange slot. It doesn't take much for something to take you beyond 5pm at work, even though at home to suddenly find it's 520-530 and you're suddenly scrambling to get there for a decent warmup. |

Knee was somewhat unstable on warmup but less troublesome at pace. However rolled my ankle on the opposite leg to the dodgy knee so that wasn’t great. I did pace a 10 year old to a sub 20 pb so some good came out of it. |
