I recall TT mentioning wind sprints in his training recap before but never bothered asking what exactly they were. Google “noun. a sprint, usually run several times in succession as part of a conditioning program, to develop an athlete's wind, speed, and endurance.” |

@stevieg glad to hear you’re almost back to full health. @Curly45 sounds like a similar weekend to mine. @Sorequads the coaching is certainly doing you good. You could be troubling 2:49:xx if that’s MP+30”. Let’s hope the weather is similar to last year’s 🤞 Finally back training after the latest injury. Last 3 weeks have been 42, 40 & 61 this week. Parkruns have gone 21:13, 21:15, 21:37. I did a few K either side yesterday + a hilly bike ride then hiked 2.9M up to the top of Cadair Idris for sunset & jogged back down just in time as it was getting dark. V. hilly 13 today around Dolgellau in Eryri National Park. Mix of quiet road & very rough stony trail. Definitely going to take a rest day tomorrow. |

As I said on Suspect it was definitely closer to MP+15s or maybe even less. But 6:40s for a 2:55 would be an absolute result. The stone arch is indeed very random. What could be its purpose?! Good week from you. 61M is a big jump. And races in the pipeline? |

Just Newport: wcpgw This is another Irish coach describing windsprints a la Lydiard. https://runningcoach.ie/2016/09/30/workouts-wind-sprints/#:~:text=Arthur%2520Lydiard%252C%2520perhaps%2520my%2520primary,logic%2520%E2%80%93%2520for%2520using%2520this%2520workout. |

@Forrest Jooligan that picture of Cadair is stunning! Good description of windsprints. Great to see things taking a step forward for you with the mileage! @Sorequads - you're a lot fitter than 2:55. 6:55 pace at the end of your biggest week, after a morning of volunteering is really positive. @Foppotee - re: being in-tune with my body, there are a lot of negatives to fibro, but it has actually been useful in that respect (there has to be something positive to it). Drivers like that really wind me up; they just don't get the potential seriousness of what they're doing. You seem to be coming into good shape. @Curly45 - a 20% hill sounds delightful!! Nice one on the fastest comeback parkrun. @stevieg - stevieg wrote: cheeky! Not fancying marathon training then? You're racking up a few "sessions i wouldn't fancy" there recently @Sorequads . If TT doesn't utterly destroy you it can only be a positive for the fitness @LBAC Si - that is really cool to be a special guest! Excellent! A week of practically nothing here. We were away for a few days at the Forest of Dean. Had planned lots of walking, but Mrs TT's long covid flared up, so it became a very chilled time instead - aside from the most uncomfortable mattress known to man, but luckily we came back to a pre-planned spa evening which got rid of most of those kinks! Will hopefully get out for some sort of run today after I clear my work backlog. Aiming to try get a bit more structure in place over the coming months. |

I jest @TippTop, @Sorequads is not only in good hands with yourself, but there's no-one on this thread who is better suited to such training, as he's robust with the bigger miles and longer runs. The two of you should align perfectly. ps no chance to a marathon. I need stuff to go just right for a HM. And definitely is the right decision to defer Reading HM. I did 10 Sunday, 6$4 yesterday, 6 so far today with a 4 coming, but can't entertain racing a HM without at least a couple of weeks of sessions etc. And it's not worth going there just to 1hr 30 it or something. Plenty of races. |

Those are some epic pics there @Forrest Jooligan . Promising to be more like your standard wanderlust summer ahead hopefully after a last year that was more difficult.
