Is it normal that when you're tapering down before a big race that you start to feel niggles and twinges? I have an ache in my left knee, very dull one. This was operated on last December. And i have mild shin splints in my right shin. At the end of 30 weeks marathon training and have managed to run through every niggle without any trouble at all. So is this normal; pre-race twitching?

Taiper madness, most prominent in the early weeks of April.

It is very common and yes, your leg / arm / head is going to drop off. :)

Cool, I'm pleased I'm still mad then. I'd hate to start being "normal" after all these years.
