Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Managed a peaceful and steady 2,000m in a very quiet pool today. Great headspace!

Sounds lovely!

Friday - 3k of CSS efforts with the training squad - still hard work but not as hard as it used to be, so hopefully that's a sign of progress. This morning - lovely long swim in the lake, saw some big fish! And met some friends and their very smily six-month-old there which was an unexpected treat.

Pretty good 1.3km pool swim this morning. I'm now comfortable enough to be able to swim continuous lengths within 4 lengths of starting. This is a big breakthrough for my confidence - slow but steady :-)

Nice 1600m for me. Funny thing - and I don't know if anyone else has the same experience - but whether or not I really enjoy my swim is very dependent on other people that are there at the time. This morning was a bit difficult and I just had to get on with it and zone other idiots out.

Occasionally, NE. Sometimes you get someone swimming erratically which makes it hard swim as you have to keep checking where they are!

Lucky to have just one other person in the lane for most of my swim today though it was 3 different people. Did have a weird moment halfway through when they divided our wide lane into a more narrow one :-o

One of the things I find hard about swimming is that it can be so dependent on others. A couple of selfish lane mates can definitely impact my enjoyment. But then does tend to make swim faster on anger so has its plus side!
