Good, took a long way home from gym. A long, flat industrial estate (better than it sounds, with trees and grass). Then a long uphill, now in the posh side of town. And a flattish section past leafy gardens. In the sun, slight breeze. Gd times

Had to use treadmill, and even with patio doors open and all the living room windows open it was baking! I got so hot that when I sat in the garden after and then stood up I felt a bit faint!

I was wearing my Edinburgh Marathon T and this guy in the park asked me how it was. He then asked my time. I told him and he snorted then explained to me how he had done all the marathons on the circuit and that his slowest time was 3:07. Knowing that I was never going to win in this exchange I smiled and mumbled something. Thank God that it was a sunny day and Dylandog and I could just trot off at our pace, on our run, training for the next race.

Ah well, I suppose its not enough for some people to succeed, others must fail! (Or not live up to expectations) It didn't tarnish my medal though...

Errrrrrrgh! Half marathon, that started at 2pm. Had to adopt a run/walk strategy by mile 4 as it was so blisteringly hot (I NEVER walk in races), no shade and just when you thought you were going to die they threw in a couple of styles and a verticle hill just to finish you off!
Threw up at mile 11 (first time that's happened!), but managed to continue on to the finish in 2:17. Weirdly, got a better buzz crossing that line than the one at VLM!
Bearing all that in mind, it was a great race and I loved running through the field of shoulder high grass for a couple of miles, and the rickety old bridges. Weather made for great camerardery between the runners too so there was a great atmosphere.
Got a great comedy tan too. Rah!
