Hi FR
thats interesting as mine would go up quite a lot then as I can go quite a way beyond 3ks in 12 mins. Having checked a number of recent race results though I am quite consistantly around the mid to high 50s
I should think so to Ian !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Make sure the run is very easy.
I have a rest day(ie.a day of far to much energy)

Gobi,
Yes I'll do a very steady RR tonight then nothing at all tomorrow except maybe eat pizza or similar
Race on Sunday, then total rest Monday then RR tuesday and gently back into it. I'll be fine for intervals a week on Saturday (14th) :-).

I did the longest run of my life last night. 16 miles, not quick.
Felt fit enough, but I was in pain throughout my back and legs. I didn't get a good feeling from it I have to say. Still feel a bit numb.

You will feel much better the next time you do it Puddington. Also did you use any nutrition? I use jelly babies over 10 miles and that helps me a lot.

Gobi, how do you calculate your VO2 max then? Do you use an internet site? I've always thought my VO2 max was between about 48 and 51, but Cooper's test would put it much higher. Perhaps I have interpreted it incorrectly or perhaps it's wrong on Brian Mackenzie's site. I haven't looked for it on any other sites.

I had a gel at about 9 miles Ian, I was probably a bit unprepared - I really only wanted to do 2 hours running, but went too far out!
There was a lack of shops on the route, but I got a lucozade sport at about 12 miles too.
I couldn't really eat after either, I felt so sick and tired - this is unusual for me!

Pudd: Did you run it too fast?
Either that or you pushed the distance up too far in one go ...

Oooohhh felt nice to be running again after a weeks break due to injury. Nice and steady as didn't want to spoil the recovery but damn it felt good
