Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

It looks as if three distinct circles have been subjected to this scorched earth policy. Is that three separate users engaging in this tactic or one user moving his/her Fetchpoint location?

I've only marked those which are off of the roads/tracks. Plus one of the footpaths thru the fields too from memory cos it has asbo cows in the field occasionally.

would it be possible to make a previously inaccessible point accessible again just by running/walking/cycling through it?

maybe combine a 'fee' for marking something as inaccessible, and a 'reward' for resurrecting it?
or maybe (and I got shot down in flames last time I suggested this) a time limit on a point being inaccessible - if it's long enough (say 90 days) it would mean you wouldn't be for ever marking the same point, but would allow points to come back into circulation

I like that idea as a way of tidying up the mess R4R. I'm not sure about the reward strategy though - if someone is willing to burn down their entire circle for the sake of the game, then I need to make sure it doesn't benefit them. Maybe if you mark it inaccessible, and someone then runs through it, they take points from you?

But some points are genuinely temporarily inaccessible - like the development that's been built near me - half my circle (when I played, I don't at the moment) was covered by a building site for several years and was therefore inaccessible. Gradually though, bits of it have been opened up so have become accessible again. I'd be peeved to be penalised now for marking them inaccessible whilst they genuinely were

There's a difference between running through and cycling through though - I've marked some patches alongside the A1 as not accessible as there is no footpath. But I know they have cycle events along it and peeps cycle (mad people) all the time

I would like an amnesty though, field edge paths change all the time and some that I couldn't get to I can now...
