Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Glad it suits, Gobi :)

I would have taken mine yesterday, be nice to have somewhere to wash and change and sit down with a proper tea - but I wasn’t sure I could get in the parking with it.

Turns out there were two spaces before the height restriction but it’s always a gamble and google earth isn’t always helpful.

We have moved on from Final Ligure, Italy - didn't like the site so came to our French one a day early. So pleased we did - this is out pitch view

Hi people, where's the best place to look for a cheap 2nd hand camper? I don't have a huge budget, and just had a narrow escape from an ebay scammer, only because I kept checking the documents

Hi Girlie, welcome to the thread. Well done on defeating the scammers.

Not sure there’s any such thing as a cheap 2nd-hand camper these days. But maybe, just maybe, the top's about to blow off the market. Might be worth waiting a wee while to see how sales are going. [for example, our local sales centre has had nothing on the yard for a year or more, but over the past month there’s been a progressive growth of availability, which means prices have varied]

Keep looking and don't rush in. That’s my advice

Ditto Angus, Girlie; like many things in life - there is often more than first thought. During the pandemic idealists rushed and purchased campers etc, now they are learning that there are trade offs like parking both home and away, extra continuous costs of another vehicle regardless of usage, the lifestyle of camping and compromise... now 'regular' holiday destinations are opening up, they will be looking to offload the pandemic holiday solution - add to that the huge rise in road fuel and the bottom is going to fall out of the market. Bide your time, do your homework and get value for your money 👍🙂

We are currently on the ferry from Dover over to Dunkirk, mainly staying in France and NL for a couple of weeks. Girlfriend is Dutch so we are seeing some of her family and friends, before going back to France for a stage or two of the Tour de France. We may nip over into Germany, partly for a parkrun on the second weekend, but regardless I’m hoping to do a Dutch parkrun on the first weekend.

Stopping in Bruges tonight, which I love. I’ve been many times but never in the van, but we’ve got a place around 3K out from the city, so all is good.

First time on the ferry to Europe since Brexit, and with the dog there is some added stress in that regard. Hoping everything is in order with the Animal Health Certificate paperwork when we get to France as if not, we could be back in Dover this afternoon...fingers crossed that won’t happen!
