Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I'm on Islay WS. At Loch Gruinart yesterday there were at least 3 to be heard without walking more than a couple of hundred metres. Two were even conveniently positioned either side of the walk way to the hide. Went looking for eagles at Oa today but without success today. I've got another week so hopefully i'll get lucky one day. Did find a large group of Red breasted merganser off a remote beach this afternoon, along with nesting Arctic Terns before the weather turned a bit grotty.

I heard a corncrake a few years ago in a forest park in NI. Either that or I heard someone imitating a corncrake. I have always wondered

That makes sense for both of you. West of Scotland NI is where they're at 😆. Excellent.

Lovely peaceful walk around The Tongue in Troutbeck on Sunday to help the legs recover. Incredibly quiet, and found more cuckoos (already had more than the whole of last year), stonechat, mippits, and the very handsome Mr & Mrs redstart.

Came oh here to post my latest and by coincidence I'm matching flanker. Saw a redstart today out at work in a little village in Denbighshire, nesting in a lady's roof, they come back every year apparently. Another first for me, what a lovely little bird.

Nuthatch nest in my local woods. Saw the blue beauty on the side of a tree a couple of times.

I've been sat out in the garden and have just seen 4 Starlings chase off a Sparrowhawk.
