I used to use a bit of tinted moisturiser for work, but I've had to try other stuff. Mineral seems to work OK (as long as it hasn't any Bismuth Oxychloride in it). Same here re the age - mid to late thirties, but only in the last few years has it really gone to town (I'm 43)

I do have some lysine, but probably haven't given it a good go to say whether it helped. I'd say the mineral make up is probably better for rosacea sufferers. companies like Lily lolo and Earthnicity ship sample quantities so you can try them (plus vids on the websites). Despite not being much of a make-up wearer I'm reasonable at putting it on (used to do it for others). There is a bit of knack for applying but it's pretty OK.

Now there's a thing Hipps. I've never noticed on you!!
I had antibiotics last year and they helped (Oxytetracylcine) - more or less cleared up in fact - then it all came back with erruptions to a point earlier this year where I started to think about medication again - the Dr I saw basically said I was being vain and should go away apply suncream and avoid all teh things that trigger it - not very happy with those thoughs I must admit and it has put me going off to the Dr again
Will have to go look over the make up's thanks for those notes
I'm just playing at the minute with what to do with mine when it kicks off.. but certainly my bedraggled esacape after flu and feeling pretty crud through winter/early spring has left me with constant blasts of lumps and spots
I thikn it's hard to say what kicks mine off.. sometimes certain new creams will work or a new soap or moisturiser and then bang they help it kick off.

If I had rosacea, I'd be on a daily dose of lymecycline until either something better was invented or my mortal remains were heading into the flames. Or unless I could persuade my local dermatology department to give me systemic retinoids.

Not a rosacea sufferer - but I do have slightly 'dodgy' skin, really clear most of the time - but sudden bouts of excema and/or psoriasis since early childhood. What was very noticeable was a big increase in problems - after years of nothing - when I hit my late forties/early fifties. I also got - horror of horror - a boil. Plus a massive carbuncle. (alien growth in groin) I am sure (as was my female GP when I finally saw her) that this was peri-menopause related.
So another thing to consider, or at least discuss, is HRT - which I was on for several years - and did help with lots of related issues.
Sorry if interfering - obviously Vrap and Hipps both docs anyway!
But peri menopause can be weird and unexpected.

Interesting I still get PMT though! My hospital refuses to stock Lymecycline, and Im not prepared to take minocycline And they have stopped us self prescriibing (and paying) for private meds
So I guess Im going to have to blooming well register with a GP
and look into laser-because the redness is beyond a joke

I wouldn't take minocycline either. Lymecycline is very much a "GP drug". I don't mind posting you a script, Hippo, though you really ought to register with a GP - or there's no reason why you couldn't write a private prescription and take it to any pharmacy.
