Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

C Block - there's no place like it.

Bit of a lost opportunity there. Many more spurious apostrophe's could have been inserted.

I think the apostrophe pale's (:)) into insignificance next to the magnificently misplaced comma in Boreham Complex, C Block, the place from which this thread derives it's (:)) name.

The apostrophe is there to demonstrate taking ownership.

The actual C Block, how splendid. Where is the sandwich van parked these days? And can you still buy novelty police fridge magnets from the Police Museum?

The sandwich van parks outside Boreham C Block. The museum still sells novelty magnets, too - but that's outside/underneath/sort-of part of Headquarters C Block.

It's the Boreham C Block that gives this thread its name.

... We’re testing tech from <Company A>, and from <Company B>. Our work is in stages: fishbowl, pond, ocean. Right now we’re in the tank: an artificial environment where we can see if the software/services we’re testing actually work in theory. This means “hacking” images and stats to introduce errors, mixing them with good images and stats, and seeing if the software/services can identify the errors. If we like what we learn in the “fishbowl”, we’ll try things out in a pond – ie still controlled and small – to learn what we need to set our techy fish free in the ocean.

[so you work in a robot fish division of Google or something, do you Oranj]

Can you guess what this means...?

Across the Group we’re working together to build a brilliant xxx. That means we have to adapt and evolve to meet the changing needs of our customers, finding ways to simplify what we do and reducing cost within the business so that we can reinvest in the things that matter most and add the most value.

I want to share with you some changes we’re proposing to make to the way we work in a number of areas that we feel will enable us to deliver our strategy and realise maximum value.

Job cuts anyone...?! :-) G
