Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

How are you all “back street rat” runners?

Have you sussed it yet?

Best time to run
Best back street route
Staying safe and keeping out of others ways?

Love to hear your ideas

I’m getting up about 6am. Usual routes I use before work seem quiet enough. Just occasionally have to step into the road or cross the road for the odd dog walker, otherwise ok.

LOL! Finding new routes to run as my usual ones are busier than usual. Need to get up earlier.

LOL. Because I’m not having to do my commute to work at the moment I can get up later! When I’m in work I get up at about 4.30 to fit in a run before driving to school.

Getting up earlier doesn't work for me as the usual before work dogwalkers are out from about 5am onwards and I'm not going out any earlier than that!

finding a gap about 10am - between the dog walkers and the "we're supposed to go out for half an hour each day" walkers works OK

5:30am worked pretty well for me on Sunday. Nobody around at all. This morning I was out at 6 and coming back by about 10 to 7 and there were *lots* of dog walkers out. I don't think they come out as early as Rosehip's ones but it's still pretty early.

I suppose as we move towards the summer, the skies will get lighter and we'll be able to go out at 4am!

I am with you all on the early

I am going to try and run first thing, normally I struggle to get up buy being at hone working it is much easier and I am less stressed

I find it so odd, but reminds me of races when the roads are shut! Running in the middle of a road is a unique and kind of free experience!

Out early, running along the (almost deserted) dual carriageway is best for me. Things are getting busy in the parks by 7 around here

I found some streets I didnt even know were there just now and a very moving memorial stone set to mark a building being bombed in WW2 and a plaque to commemorate the baby being born alive when his mum was found two weeks later under the rubble.. stunned!

Also great to see so many rainbows and messages from kids

I think I am going to love being a back streer rat!
