Mine wasn't as bad as yours. I wore a brace on it for a two or three weeks and it was fine after that.

Every situation is different. Great to hear how others coped. Glad some were easier to manage than mine. Then Night-Owl pops in with a worse one.
Thanks Anj. Makes sense

So sorry to hear about your wrist - it's a painful predicament to be in.
I smashed my radius and ulna in a bad cycling crash two years ago. Whilst running would have been out of the question, I was able to cycle on my turbo trainer at home by rigging up my cast onto a window opener and having it suspended. I bought various supports so I could wash them afterwards as you get sweaty on the turbo. Because I had plates in my arm (as I suspect you do), tubigrips were generally enough to support the wrist in a sling after a couple of weeks.

Hi Rachel. Just the Radius. No plates. Reduced on the day it was broken, and held a good enough position. However I never got a lighter plaster. I just got the light cast applied over the original. I understand this was done to maintain position. Using the hand a fair bit, no pulling/pushing or falling over! Doctors orders. Walking time wise as long as I would run, not the same, but in 3.5 weeks when plaster is removed I should have something to start me off again.

Good luck with recovery - your wrist/arm will look so small when plaster comes off - I was quite shocked,

7 weeks since I broke my wrist. Started tentatively last week. Ran to and from work today. Feel normal again Still a lot of movement, and strength to get back in my wrist. I am running, that's all that counts here Many thanks for the guidance and support, greatly appreciated. Thank you all.
