Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I'll be in the Blue wave (3.30-4.00 hours). It might be ambitious, but we will see :)
It's all getting very exciting, and I must admit to getting a bit nervous now. I have started tapering, and as expected, am finding it hard not going out for long runs after all the training I've done over the last few months.
Weather forecast looks good with the winds from the south at 14mph, temperature at 11 degrees and 20% chance of light rain (although it's early days yet)

@Surrey Phil I wish I had a choice about realistically starting with anything other than green! :D
Whilst they haven't written it anywhere, I think it is safe to assume that the 30 minute window arrival times are less applicable to membership. Unless I misunderstand, our numbers aren't wave-specific and theoretically surely we'll be able to access anytime from 9.15 at the latest? (although admittedly 30 minute is plenty if everything is smooth). My stress levels skyrocket before a run as it is, so I was planning to allow myself at least another 15 minutes buffer for baggage and be sipping tea by 9.45 ready for green wave.

I'm in the white wave based on a decent half time from 2020. Starting to get a bit nervous about that now though :)

premierfella, hopefully we can catch up next Sunday morning!

Back in September, I arrived about twenty minutes early (I opted for pink then) and was allowed to go straight into the members' area. Then, it was down to space - and there was plenty. As members start from the front of their chosen corral, I set off about ten minutes earlier than scheduled. That may have been down to a reduced field so an earlier arrival is probably a good thing.

Hadn't picked up on this thread so posted this (below) in the wrong place! Repeating here...

A reminder that there will be a Fetchpoint at around mile 19.

Location in what.three.words is

lonely.leans.fuel

Or in map terms, outside the King Alfred Leisure Centre in Hove. There will be red & yellow bunting.

I will probably just be shouting encouragement as I'm not sure people will want to take sweets from strangers these days. If there's anything you'd particularly like at that point let me know & I'll do my best.

Thanks again for coming down to support us, sallykate.

I will be in Macmillan green but will come and say hello. I think fewer Fetchies take part in our colours anymore. Come to think about it, I only wore my FERC top at the Brighton Marathon from 2014-2016.

Thanks for the support SallyKate.

I'll look out for you at King Alfred Centre.

I ran the Surrey Half Marathon in Fetch colours a few weeks ago. Got a "Go Fetchie" from someone in the crowd.

I'll be in club colours on Sunday. Either all black or white Worth Way Runners top.

Brighton Marathon Weekend

❗IMPORTANT: Beach Village Update❗
The Beach Village will now be opening at 1pm on Friday 8th April due to the weather affecting our build.
Previously opening at 10am, we have had to delay the opening of the Beach Village until 1pm on Friday 8th April due to builds being delayed, as the weather conditions are impacting our ability to put up structures.

This means you will be unable to explore the Expo, or collect your Race Pack until 1pm on Friday, BUT we will now be keeping the Race Pack collection open until 19:30pm on that day.
To confirm... the Beach Village opening hours are:

Friday 8th April: 1pm - 7.30pm
Saturday 9th April: 10am - 6pm
