I can think of better places. Nice wide, flat tops of the Carneddau for starters, as long as you don’t mind being a lightning conductor!

JK is still flying. Over Snowdon in just over 11 hours, over 2 and a half hours up on schedule. Recovery from his efforts on the PW has clearly been good.

I did have similar thoughts DT. His main recovery strategy did seem to involve just cycling instead of running.

It looks like JK may have had some fun on Tryfan. Between Glyder Fach and Ogwen he lost an hour to his schedule.. Also looks like he had a little nav wobble leaving Pen yr Ole Wen but caught it before any real damage was done. He is now heading for the last peak of the Paddy (Pen Llithrig y Wrach) and should be finished just before 9am for a sub-22 hour round.

looking at the weather sat for the last hr, I'm guessing there was "weather" there in the early hrs.

I think so too RH. Given the weather here this morning I certainly wouldn't be looking forward to a day on the bike if I was in his shoes. It will be a pretty grim day I suspect. He is certainly going to get the full British summer weather experience.

I was also wondering at the interesting splits for Tryfan ff. Must a have been an interesting night out there. The planned 15 minute split from Tryfan summit to Ogwen valley looked pretty aggressive in the dark too (guessing that's normal for a PB round?) My Tryfan memories were pre-running, with the eight pitches Grooved Arete (lovely V Diff***) being well remembered more than once, with a much slower pootle back down to Glan Dena in the valley. |

not quite sub 22 in the end but still up on schedule. Hope he gets a decent rest now and the weather improves for the ride.
