Over the last few weeks, I've really had some serious thoughts of doing my own round. Having assisted on 3 sucessful rounds and had a few nice training runs up in the Lakes as well.

So, I've taken the plunge and decided on June 2011, a year earlier than originally planned. I've pencilled in Friday, June 17th, as my possible date (work permitting) either a 23:00 or a midnight start, doing a clockwise round.

I've had a couple of fmails about the round, both supporting myself and with the idea of other people wanting to have an attempt. So I thought I'd start this thread away from the fellrunners thread.

If any future contenders want to add dates here for their rounds, make dates for training weekends and to ask for advice and help, then post here. If anyone can offer help to the contenders, then post here as well.

I'll be heading up over the winter and spring to do some training work, so will post the details on here when I know them. If anyone wants to join in, then feel free. It's not about being a speedy mountain goat, it's just an enjoyable day out in the fells :)

Look, it's the night before my birthday (18th), couldn't think of a better way of celebrating. Happily will run a leg or two with you...in the meantime would be good to get some trainig runs in through the early part of next year.

My birthday on the 18th as well Tom, the main reason I've chosen the date.

I very much doubt I would be anywhere near good enough to run a support leg, but if there's other support stuff that needs doing, then I could probably manage to feed you tea and birthday cake or whatever :-)

Dave, what a great day for it - best birth date of the year! However, isn't this the same weekend as the WHW? I'm supporting sants at WHW this year, otherwise would love to have come down and supported you on a leg or two. Obv huge good luck with it. :-)G
