I liked Talk Ultra basically because once again it was two likeable blokes chatting.

I like talk ultra for long runs, makes it harder to give up at 12 miles if you're listening to people who run 100!

Is Talk Ultra different to Ultra Talk (the latter is what I *think* I was listening to)? :-)G

I gave up on Talk Ultra. I didn't really warm to the blokes presenting it. On the other hand I love the parkrun Show and I'm looking forward to meeting King Danny at a parkrun sooner or later. Different strokes, etc.

I'll listen to most podcasts simply to fill the hours of running. Talk Ultra wins out by being ridiculously long, even though the main focus is US 100s and 'Sky Running' and not very relevant to the Ultra scene most of us know. Marathon Talk is always good value and I'll put up with the parkrun show (tedious in jokes and all) so I can keep our parkrun team informed and pick up tips when they cover more useful subjects. Will try out the new suggestions when I need to fill more hours when the long runs kick in.
I also like 'The Marathon Show' but that is probably the American bit of me. I imagine most Brits would find Joe Tericani REALLY annoying!

Joe Tericani is, I'm sure, a lovely man with a lot of great attributes but I cannot bear to listen to him. I tried, really I did. I wanted to like him but I failed in my endeavours.

I don't mind tedious in-jokes (in fact, I rather like them) but the relentless positivity of The parkrun Show wore me down over time - to be blunt, I wouldn't trust them to tell us if there was anything less than perfect about parkrun...
Must try Marathon talk - although I've got a backlog of 30 hours of other (mostly non-running) podcasts to grind down a bit first...

Only a mere 30 hour backlog Dooogs? I use a massive backlog, to motivate me to up my mileage... and it'll need to be soon!

I've been working on it - it was about 70 hours last April! There is a definite negative correlation between training miles run and size of backlog...

My training is going well at the minute. I've had to buy some audiobooks to pad out the backlog.;-)
