The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free.
But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient.
Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead.
Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?
That's in relation to the bit you have just been talking about on today's podcast - you have the app and if a bird is singing where you are it will tell you what it is and other things about it too. My friend has it on her phone but I don't know what it is called. Not much help I know but if I hadn't commented I would have forgotten to mention it!
The RSPB bird id website is pretty good - you put in descriptions of the thing, bird, you know thing and it tries to work out what it is. Don't know if it does the noises. It plays the noises (song, cheeps, whatevs) but don't know if it listens to them.
This is all a bit weird as I haven't played the podcast yet. Drive home at 6pm! G
Next week's podcast will be recorded entirely in (or on our way to) Devon for the Swoosh. We've been making plans with the other Swooshers (Katie, Elsie Too, Helegant, SilverShadow and Nightjar) to do various recordings. The idea will be to spend minimal time editing, and maximum time eating pasties
