Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Tough race, but what did I expect with part of the course called "lungbuster hill"?! Course was good, but the hill was really, really slippy so had to put in longer spikes for race. Decided not to go off too fast like the last XC race I did and just went nice and easy, picking up the pace a little in the second and third laps. Let Ian Hawkins passed and get away too far that I coulnd't quite catch him before the line. Still, beat Steve Pennycook and Andy Milne, so not all bad, but couldn't even see Dan Newman after the race got going. Good enough to get me back into the mood after Christmas. Good to see the under 13's winning their trophy, which is sitting nicely above my fireplace as Dean's been given it to look after first even though none of his results won any points for the team!!

Really enjoyed the last East league race at Broxburn. A good tough course, plenty of heavy going muddy sections, and lots of tough climbs.

Held pace down OK at start then worked my way through the field.

5.58 6.02 6.11 6.07 6.35 2.15

Finished 54th overall, 33:08 2nd harrier home.

Harriers senior team were 4th in the league behind Corstorphine, Central and Edinburgh and the vets team won! :)

Not my finest hour today. Went into the race feeling positive but felt off the pace from lap 1 and didn't have any fight in me to grind it out - espesh on the hills. Similar time as last year but sure I'm in better shape than I was back then. Chin up and back to it.
