Bit of an unknown distance for me, with the previous longest race being Folksworth 15m.
The plan was to go at just under 6 min miles for the first half, then see how I was feeling.
That went out the window in the first 200m as the group behind me was far too slow, so stuck with the faster group.
That strategy paid off, as I managed to sustain that pace all the way through the race, hills aside.
I felt good all the way up to 27k, when I caught the guy I was chasing, was a real graft after that and he eventually beat me.
All in all though, I'm pleased with the result, and the signs look good for when I eventually decide to take on the marathon.
I'd recommend this race; the course was really nice, and the hills aren't half as bad as many make out, there are just lots of them!

Brill pacing and well done on 9th place
Thanks all. I think it was actually 8th place, still waiting on an enquiry with the timing people.
