Wry smile here, too. Worrying for you, but he's talking, which is great.

Autistic humour. Don't you just love it :-O (We did, but it confused visitors when the children went off on one of their tangents.)

Lifting the lid off diagnosis in mental health. The title, 'What's In A Label?' gives a good idea of what it covers. I didn't know about the DSM but I do now.

Another wry smile, but I'm sorry he's struggling. I'm on my way home. T1 didn't have a great night but she's coping ok at the moment. It was still hard leaving her at the station with a little lost anxious look behind her smile.

[Sorry, halfpint. :) Although I'm not a parent, I look out for information that might interest those caring for and living with young people who may need support with their mental health. ]

Some serious stuff going on here at the moment. I think your daughter is probably in the best place at the moment Groundhog. So sorry you're having to deal with this. Sending hugs.

Bloody GCSEs. After months of managing her anxiety pretty well, SweetPea seems to be on the verge of something not good. She's punching and scratching herself again and is lying on the floor a lot (i know that sounds odd, but it's a coping mechanism for her) She keeps screaming that she's got less than 3 weeks to mocks, and only 53 school days left. She's also applying for 6th forms and trying to decide on A' Levels. Why do we put our young people through this?

GCSEs should be banned. If it’s any consolation ds1 failed 2 of his and just did well in the subjects he needed to do well in, and it doesn’t seem to have done him much harm in uni applications. I’m glad he just coasted through GCSEs, he was pretty miserable but at least he didn’t burn out. It’s like kids getting stressed about SATS, really not worth the aggro. Easier said than done when school are piling on the pressure :(
