Well done Kosgei, it looked like she was the next challenger since London. Keitany may be past her prime now, but she must be wishing she was in Nikes... |

Even though the shoes contribute here and I'm not sure about them, I'd still rate this more than yesterday.

I missed all the fun, did Kosgei have male pacemakers like Radcliffe or was it female only?

Had male pacers. I haven't seen it yet though. Interestingly re Farah, I'd say that run wouldn't indicate medal potential if the selectors were going off just that. |

If anyone remembers Blister, formerly of these parts he was part of a team that trialled the sub 2 marathon running formations at some Ineos test days (obvs he wasn’t allowed to say anything before). Pretty cool!

Two male pacers for almost the whole run with no-one else in sight (apart from passing the occasional male elite as they blew up).

Farah is getting involved in too much controversy for him to perform effectively. First the Gebreselassie/hotel theft that reared it's head in London and now him having to bat off questions about his time with Alberto Salazar, Farah seems to be courting trouble at every turn.

If we put Farah’s off-course distractions to one side as a reason for underperformance, is it fair to suggest that Hawkins should be considered the GB’s #1 marathoner now? He’s been touted, rightly, as the future for a while, but perhaps this really is Farah in decline.

Hawkins proving he’s a championship performer. Not sure why but just not seeing Farah as top top marathon runner. Hope he proves me wrong. Kosgei was amazing. They are all so humble in their interviews. |
