Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Planes and trains that aren't designed for anyone above midget size. I'm only 5'11, but I've got the legs of a 6'6 person. Cramp, dead legs, pins and needles. This world is designed for midgets all in the name of pounds per square foot of cash.

Ironically, the one train I've been on that had loads of leg room was in a country with shorter people than here on average. The Shinkansen. Masses of room. And it ran bang on time at 200mph. See - it can be done!

Airlines that cram the seats in so bloody tight that you have to impinge on each other's space...

xpost with Teboy. Yep, the trains in Finland had ample legroom too.

I calculate you must have the body of a 5'4" person, in that case. I hope you have a photo in the gallery to reflect this freakery ;-)

Work around holiday time. Look you bastards, it's my ANNUAL LEAVE. You need to adjust timescales/expectations by those 2 weeks, not make a concerted attempt to get that 2 weeks work crammed into the week before and week after my leave, on top of existing work.

[definition of a holiday: an opportunity to cram an extra 2 weeks' work into the week either side of the break in order to have 2 weeks doing nothing.]

Spot on crashers. It's as if they want to make the week before and after your holiday so miserably stressful and intense that in future years you might not bother at all.

I just had this...

'sorry I'm timed out this week to do that, and then on leave for 2 weeks'
'but it's got to be done. You'll just have to find a way'

(the task is in no way genuinely essential - an arbritrary task that needs to be done to meet an arbritrary deadline that doesn't really matter in life terms if it's missed anyway)

Speaking on behalf of the midget community I can confirm long haul flights affect us too :)

Having to start filling in accident/near miss forms 10 mins before the end of your shift and then getting phone calls at home about said incident whilst the person involved is now safely tucked up in bed and my morning run is kayboshed for today.....

Planes, trains and in fact most public seating areas are definitely designed for us midgets and my feet never dangle in mid air unless I have at least 4 inch heels on.
