Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

if anyone says *Happy 4th of July* on any media outlet, that will grind my gears.

I didn't like self service tills and raged against a shop worker in Asda once about them - Mrs J then showed me how to use them properly (she's in the trade) - I like them now, oh and I mastered con tactless payments.

Stupid petty inflexible rules. A colleague was recently in the States and couldn't buy alcohol because he didn't have ID, even though he is in his mid-forties and doesn't even look young for his age. It's winding me up writing about it and I wasn't even there.

The fact that Kinder Eggs are banned in the US because they're dangerous and might kill children, but guns which do and have killed children are perfectly ok.

Idiot drivers who pootle along a major road substantially below the legal and safe speed limits, without observing that a large queue of traffic has built up behind them and it might be sensible to obey the road signs that suggest they pull over to allow overtaking.

Or the ones who do the above, then when confronted with a clear straight stretch of road with no oncoming traffic suddenly decide to speed up to the limit, then slowing down again as soon as traffic approaches....
