Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Trying to work from home with noise. Yesterday it was screaming children next door. Today it's their dogs barking followed by a cold caller trying to make me switch broadband provider.

Snap! I've just had a cold caller asking me to switch broadband provider. But I wasn't trying to work, I was just eating chocolate on the sofa.

That’s one of the things I love about living in the countryside, no cold callers. Well, apart from Jehovah’s Witnesses - they probably get them on remote Scottish islands.

Apart from the children, it's the same day as at the top ^^^. Dog barking non-stop followed by a cold caller while I was trying to finish my work off. Trying to decide whether I need to get one of those stickers from our Neighbourhood Watch guy or if it's really my fault for not looking out of the bay window when the doorbell rings.

I'm trying to move our wifi router a couple of feet, from the floor to a bookshelf about 30" higher. There are SIX cables attached to it, from all directions. The cables are not long enough to give much flexibility. I also want the result to be reasonably good-looking.

We've still got the odd plastic poppy cable tied to lamp posts round our way
