True Salty Dog, plenty of people seem unable to use Google. It winds me up more though, the passive-aggressive 'hey I'm only trying to help here' suggestions of launching ones own parkrun/running club/ultra marathon.

The whole "if it doesn't exist, set it up yourself" advice really grates on me too. Not just with running related stuff either. It seems to be the standard response online to anyone enquiring about the possibility of an event happening - knitting meetups, book clubs, I even saw someone ask if there was a zero waste shop near town, for them to be told to set up a ZW business for themselves. Madness.

I must say I've never seen a "why not start your own" response to an "is there an x near y?" enquiry. I should stay in and read the internet more.

Is there a website near here, where I can see a list of typical examples of these unhelpful responses?

I set up my own Kevin. It was cheap and easy to do. Why not set up a Kevin yourself?
