Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

No idea - I pay a tenner to get my hair cut, or £12 if I want it dried before leaving the hairdressers.

You could easily save £2 by taking an umbrella with you if it's raining. Or am I missing something?

If it were raining, that would be one of the times I don't bother with the £2 extra!

Generally well-respected running shop publishing an infographic of pish in order to sell gels etc. "FACT: Your body can only store around 90 mins worth of carbohydrate!"

NOT FACT. If that were true, your typical four-hour marathoner would be hitting the wall at around mile ten.

When we get e-mails at work saying there is restricted parking in our car park, then you come in extra early to get a space to find the whole thing is closed. Then when you look out mid morning and see there are only 4 or so cars parked there.

1. People who can't handle compound nouns, so their emails and texts are full of things like Park Run, chamber maid, post man, sauce pan etc.

2. People who go the other way, and write nevermind, thankyou, aswell, abit, alot and worse.

3. The fact that the two things don't cancel each other out and ungrind my gears.

[Weren't you complaining about news items referring to mainline rather than main line services just the other day?]

Inconsistent people ;)

People replying to my email and feel the need to cc four other people in? If I wanted their input I'd have sent it to them in the first place. I suspect you are trying to impress someone else. Well done you.

Yes, because 'mainline' is an adjective (mainline stations) and 'main line' the noun phrase (East Coast Main Line). Just like everyday things you do every day. Unfortunately in this age of spellcheckers the distinction is lost on many people. :(
